DISCOVER FLOATING

aka Floatation-R.E.S.T. (Restricted Environmental Stimulus Therapy)

What Exactly is Float Therapy?

Known by many names (sensory deprivation, isolation tanks, R.E.S.T.), they all refer to the same thing — floating!

Floating involves lying in 10"of water, saturated with 1000 lbs of Epsom salt, allowing you to float effortlessly atop the water. Sensory input is reduced to a minimum - there’s no light, no sound, and the water is heated to skin temperature.

Free from sensory input, the muscular-skeletal system and sympathetic nervous system wind down into a state of deep relaxation and serenity, in which both your body and mind can replenish.

What are the Benefits?

There are many benefits from floating regularly and they vary among individuals. Most commonly our guests and members float for stress/anxiety relief, pain management, athletic recovery, and meditation/introspection.

But there is also great benefit for those looking for a creativity boost, improved sleep, relief during pregnancy, a release from jet lag, and general self-improvement (whatever that looks like for you!).

For New Guests

It’s important to note that there can be a learning curve if you’ve never floated before. That's why we always recommend floating 3 times at a regular interval before deciding if floating is for you. One float can bring about deep relaxation, but it can take a couple sessions to get used to the new environment and find your groove. Plus, the positive effects are cumulative!

So why are you here? Interested in meditation? Looking for a break from stress? Recovering from injury or training regimen? Want to learn more about yourself on a deeper level?

Floating is your solution. We offer one-hour float sessions at all of our studios: Greenlake, Bellevue, Greenwood, and South Lake Union.
